As the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games are about to commence and Aura can very soon unveil our stunning floors we would like to share with you all our very exciting and proud moment with Ari Jelekainen taking the Queen’s Baton on its way along it’s final journey to the Gold Coast on Saturday. Ari had his beautiful wife, children, family and friends there to share the moment as he proudly ran with the Baton. Bring on the Games!
12 March 2018: We were all so very proud to see Kari Jelekainen; founder of Aura Sports running with the Queens Baton recently.
Kari was equally as proud to have one of his sons and his grandson present to share the experience. Kari says “When I moved to Australia from Finland, I found this to be a very welcoming Country full of opportunity and diversity.
It was in Australia that I started this business, met my wife and started a family”. “Now that I am retired, I am very proud to see that my sons have the same passion for this industry and have chosen not only to stay in, but to grow the family business, to greater heights than I had ever dreamt possible”
September 2017: We have been sworn to secrecy and we are bursting at the seams to let you know the very special and at the moment TOP SECRET colour of our Netball Court that of course will be centre stage on the Gold Coast for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Thursday August 31st: Aura’s Managing Director Ari Jelekainen, recently visited Townsville to inspect Aura’s Basketball Court for the Preliminary Matches of the Commonwealth Games… it was great to see the excitement is spreading to far north Qld as well.
Wednesday August 30th: AURA SPORTS name on the Official Board at GOLDOC’s office at the Gold Coast today
Tuesday August 22nd: We were lucky enough to have our Launch on the Speakers Green at QLD Parliament House… Present to share the moment were… CEO of GOLDOC; Mr Mark Peters. Minister for Education Minister for Tourism, Major Events and the Commonwealth Games; The Hon Kate Jones MP, Minister for Sports; Mick de Brenni along with many others…Aura Managing Director; Ari Jelekainen was presented with the Official Ceremonial Surf Board. Ari made a touching speech on his pride at being a 2nd Generation Family Owned, Queensland based Company, also reaching the milestone of celebrating our 30th year. We look forward to many more highlights on our journey to the Games commencing in April 2018.
